Hello,

Hope your January is going well. We have had a great start to the winter term with a record number of students enrolled for classes! We hope to start matching students and tutors at the beginning of February, so if you haven't already please sign up for the training this Saturday:

1. Remote Tutor Training: Zoom Workshop 

  1. Find tools/strategies/best practices for remote tutoring
  2. Adapt 2 activities from the teaching kits (on the instructor google drive) to remote tutoring. 

We encourage you to attend even if you are already tutoring. We will be splitting the workshop into two parts: one group will serve new tutors and will cover the first two tutoring sessions, and the other group will serve tutors who are matched and would like to work as a group to design remote activities and learning. As more experienced tutors, you will have needs and questions that are different than new tutors and we want to leverage the training time we have to best equip you for your work with students.

2. Trivia Night!


We are excited to announce our first upcoming virtual trivia night! 
Part social and part friend/fundraiser we are looking forward to a fun night of brainteasers to benefit Literacy Source. All our welcome. Join us a team or, fly solo and we will assign you to a team.

3. Newsletters

Some of you may have noticed we have welcomed a new voice to our newsletters this month. Former KCCF Coordinator, Liz Wurster, has taken the position of Communications Coordinator while KCCF is closed during the pandemic.
